Friday Favorite: Free Concerts

My FREE ($10) concert!

Not many things are actually free now days; there are always strings attached.  My favorite example of this is Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI.  All the concerts are free within the Summerfest grounds but there is a fee to get in.  I don’t necessarily call that free, but I don’t complain too much because I quite enjoy Summerfest.

But Kilbourn City Live, now that’s a free concert.  Unless you plan on buying food, drinks, or merchandise.  So my free concert cost me $10 because I had two Smith & Forge Hard Ciders.  Here’s a little snapshot of the night:

Friday Favorite: Smoothies

Breakfast To-Go!

My favorite breakfast when I’m in a rush is a smoothie.  I will buy fruit/berries in bulk and freeze them to make them last a little longer.  With cold and flu season in full swing, I always have orange juice, which is perfect for my smoothies.  Without even trying, I already have half the ingredients for my smoothie.

Easy 4-ingredient Smoothie:

  1. Cup of Ice

  2. Cup of Orange Juice

  3. Cup of Frozen Fruit

  4. 1/2 Cup Yogurt

One container of Yoplait yogurt is pretty darn close to 1/2 cup so I usually don’t bother measuring it.  My favorite combination so far has been peach yogurt with strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries.  Mix it up however you would like and ENJOY!

Friday Favorite: Flannel Sheets

How to start your Winter off right: get some flannel sheets.

Done.

That’s all you need to survive the Winter.

My #1 Must-Have staple in the Winter has to be my flannel sheets. Nothing beats the feeling of crawling into a bed of flannel after a chilly day in the Midwest. I probably resemble a Joey in a kangaroo pouch when I crawl into my bed and I am not ashamed of that one bit.  Who can turn down the feeling of a giant, continuous cuddle? No one, that’s who.

Flannel sheets are perfect for the cold Winter months because they make everything cozier and warmer. They also pair nicely with a big mug of hot chocolate topped with mini-marshmallows.

If you have not invested in flannel sheets, I highly recommend you do. I love my flannel sheets so much that I’ve been known to make my own flannel pajama bottoms.
